Kathleen Joyce Hagen, 80, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021, at New Perspective Senior Living in West Fargo.
Kathleen Joyce Hagen was born in rural Judson, ND to Max and Leola (Golde) Kunz on June 13, 1940. She attended rural country schools and high school in New Salem often staying with family or friends of the family during the winter months. When not in school, she helped with the farm work once her older brother joined the Army. She graduated salutatorian of her class in 1958.
The fall after graduation, the family moved to a farm near Alexandria, MN. Her first job was at a laundry and cleaners until she saved enough money to take a business course in Minneapolis. A couple years later she met the love of her life, David Hagen. Kathleen Ann Hagen She had a great sense of humor and showed kindness to all. After retirement, Dave and Kathy traveled to Alaska, Texas, Louisiana, Quebec, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, and Arizona. A memorial service will be held at a later date due to Covid restrictions. I can transition over time to work from home which will be a joy to experience the different times of day here, the changing light, the quiet times, soft breezes, and natures surprises, a fox trotting across the land, a turtle in the pond, an unexpected bird, a beautiful sky. In addition to her husband she is survived by, a daughter; Kelly Jo van Krieken and her husband Carl of Bethlehem; a sister Maureen Brodkey and her husband Ken of Watsonville, CA.
