And the reason we thought this was such a great question was because in our culture, for many of us, it is seen as laudable to have this disordered behavior. And I got much more codependent during the times when my older children were tiny and had to sort of pull myself out of it and learn, well, Ill never forget, speaking of the way nature does things. So if we want to follow Bev and say, okay, to come back to our true nature, away from whats our wild nature here, away from the kind of culturally informed codependent. Rowan Mangan: It feels to me like you already had to navigate so many things outside of cultural acceptance that, does it help this transition to this way of love? And sometimes its more interesting to hear about what you all are trying to figure out. Rowan Mangan: Like just happens to line up exactly with the rules of the culture. Martha Beck: You have to pick it up at a place thats not explosive, but its still, a lot of us over helpers say that we dont have a right to get angry until we are literally about to die. But I think the other thing that we do well is that we have a lot of rituals in our lives that involve the three of us and so in through the day.
